How to study for NEET 2017 in the last one month before the exam? This is a very relevant question to ponder over. After all, whatever you learn or grasp during this time will stay fresh in your mind. But being buried in books for straight 15 to 18 hours in a day the right approach?

 

Probably not, several students have been gearing up for NEET 2017 for many months now.  The last one month is particularly challenging. By now many students may be feeling exhausted or is overwhelmed by the anxiety of the upcoming exam. Preparing for NEET which is one of the most difficult entrance exams in the country requires a high level of dedication and hard work.  The syllabus is vast, and the competition is stiff.  It’s only natural to be overwhelmed by all the hard work you have been putting in for the last several months. Now, on the last leg of your journey, it’s more about the battle of the nerves.

Do not divert from the NCERT Syllabus

 

This is a fairly known fact that the NEET syllabus is largely based on NCERT syllabus. Since the exam is conducted by CBSE, there are no two ways about that. However, in spite of that, students get perturbed by peers who are supposedly referring to advanced medical books to prepare for the exam.

 

Just stick to the guidance you have receiving by your mentors and do not take up any new study material.

 

Polish your Strengths

 

3 hours to answer 180 questions.  That leaves you just 1 minute per question. So, is it possible to answer all the questions within the stipulated time? We guess not. Therefore, instead of on focusing on completing or revising the entire syllabus, we suggest that you polish your strengths. Pick up those topics, sections or subjects that you are most confident about. Having a thorough grasp on the most important chapters with the NEET syllabus will strengthen your preparation, and you will be able to answer all the questions from those sections correctly.

 

Sleep Adequately

 

A well-rested mind and body will not just help you concentrate better, but will also help you fight anxiety and nervousness.  Studying for long hours at a stretch can be extremely stressful. When you sleep, the body repairs the muscle and energizes the brain. So do not compromise on sleep. Make sure that you sleep for at least 6 hours. Also, don’t hesitate to take power naps. 15 to 20 minutes of sleep can rejuvenate your mind and body instantly and prepare your brain to grasp better.

 

Revisit Previous Years Paper

 

Revisiting previous years question papers will not only abreast you with the examination pattern, but will also boost your confidence. Students often wonder what kind of questions is asked in the main examination. They have different notions and students perceive that the level of questions will be very tough.  Although NEET is a challenging entrance examination, the questions are asked within the syllabus. Therefore, if you can solve the previous year’s question, it will most certainly boost your confidence.

 

Eat Well

 

What you eat has an effect on your mood. At this juncture of your preparation, you certainly don’t want to feel tired or lethargic. Therefore, avoid junk food by all means and consume a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Eat meals that are prepared at home and make sure that drink enough water for hydration.
